Sarah and I adopted Tecota today from Arky Barky in Sherwood. We played with several puppies including a Boston Terrier and another Min Pin. Tecota was the only puppy that seemed more interested in us than in the toys.

     Tecota had her first checkup at the Vet. She weighed in at 2.1 lbs. She had a few ear mites and a stomach infection of some sort. The doctor said this wasn't uncommon for puppies after they move into new homes. He also said we should expect her to become more active. Oh boy!

     I decided today to build a fence so Tecota can enjoy the outdoors this spring and summer without having to be on a lead. Once I get the fence built, she should have plenty of room to play outside. Tecota got to play outside while Sarah and I worked on the fence.  She was pretty nervous at first but, although she didn't want to get too far away from us, she seemed to get a little more comfortable with being outside and all the new sounds and sensations associated with that.

     It's a bit of a learning experience putting up this fence. Once the weather clears up a bit, I'll be able to finish up the fence and look for problem areas. Any gap large enough for a hand to fit through is large enough for a Min Pin to fit through!

     Tecota is getting used to her new home. She and Sisika are developing an interesting relationship. Tecota has gone from afraid of Sisika to curious about her. Tecota is going on her potty pads about 80% of the time and it seems like she'll be housebroken in no time.
